Born and raised in India, I traveled the world with my parents from the age of 18 months to 16 years and was schooled on board merchant ships.
In 1994, I charmed my parents into settling me in the US at the age of 21. I spent 5 years in NY, where for 2 years I worked and learned the life of high finance at the iconic 2 World Trade Center.
In 1999, I turned in my Series 7 license for an MBA at Pepperdine University. In 2001, after graduation, I met my husband, we spent two months on Kauai, including hiking and camping the world famous Kalalau trail (still the hardest thing I have ever done…and I have given birth to two kids!)
Upon returning from Kauai, I started working as a fundraiser at an arts nonprofit in Thousand Oaks, CA. I quickly fell in love with fundraising. 7 years into it, with an 18 month old at my hip, I started to have two very stark realizations: 1: I was very good at fundraising for other people, not so good at generating income for myself. 2: I had always believed that I was meant for a greater purpose and that this was not all there was to life.
My friend introduced me to network marketing, and while outwardly and very vehemently I said NO to her, I quietly wondered, why someone like her was doing something like this. So I did my research and stumbled upon the book the 4 Year Career, the basic premise of which really spoke to me loudly. We have been taught to invest small amounts of money from an early age so that we can benefit from the compounding effect and truly have golden years as we age. So that we can travel, life a good quality of life and not worry about impending health concerns related to aging. This book equated small investments of time (30-40min a day) to the same compounding effect and that if invested with a good stable company, good products, good compensation plan can in 4-5 years have the same effect and develop a long term asset income that can pay $1,000-$5,000 or more per month for the rest of my life!
So I jumped in – head first and have never looked back! This business has changed my life and the products changed my health! I look better now in my 40s than I did in my 20s!
I am stronger, leaner and definitely healthier!
I have strong body image and believe me that wasn’t always the case and better yet, I have an astronomical self worth!
But the BEST part of this all, is that through this I found my TRUE PURPOSE in life, which is to inspire people to put the oxygen mask on themselves first, physically, emotionally, spiritually, so that they can better support the people they love, the communities they serve and the world they want to change.
Arbonne simply serves as the vehicle; the HOW for my WHY.
Now I get to fundraise at the best possible place ever – the Bank of America Performing Arts Center for arts education and experiences for youth and families and to support the dreams of local artists, to transform the lives of kids through live theatre, to uplift community through world class performances and to bond families through arts experiences. I do this because I can, because I love it, and because it fuels my soul.
